The all-new design of the GEL-Cumulus 13 gives this lightweight cushioned trainer a super plush platform feel. Besides the Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning, this edition includes a Guidance Line along the outsole, helping the foot to maintain a smooth transition from heel to toe-off. Also new is the Discrete Eye-stay Construction, which improves the overall fit.

GEL-CUMULUS 13

Following the main principles of the GEL-NIMBUS, the GEL-CUMULUS 13 is lighter, but maintains a high level of cushioning and comfort. The shock absorption of the GEL Cushioning System in the rearfoot and forefoot improves the level of cushioning and comfort, while the Trusstic System gives the shoe structural integrity and support. The GEL-CUMULUS 13 also features gender specific cushioning, to give the most comfortable ride for the male runner, which is also enhanced by the Impact Guidance System (IGS) – ASICS Design Philosophy – that employs linked componentry that emphasises the foot’s natural gait from heel strike to toe-off.

I.G.S.

The Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.) is an ASICS design philosophy. It aims to make shoe components from rear to midfoot and forefoot to work together effectively to allow the body to perform in a natural manner. ASICS designers strive to compliment, not correct, how the legs and feet move.

3M scotchlite (a registered trademark of the 3M Company) reflective material enhances visibility during low light hours.

Guidance Line

Guidance Line places a visible groove in the mid and outsole that follows the foot's center of pressure from heel to toe. The result is a more adaptive running platform, creating a smoother transition from heel strike to toe-off with each stride. Automatic Guidance Line thus helps runners to maintain a natural, efficient gait, especially over long distances.

DuraSponge

DuraSponge is a blown AHAR compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot. ASICS High Abrasion Resistance Rubber (AHAR) is a tough compound used at the heavy contact area of the outsole.
